Green Credentials

Like most people, Nellie is concerned about the environment and we are very conscious of our surroundings. We work hard to ensure that the impact our business has on the environment is kept to an absolute minimum. Below is a list of things that we have put in place to do our bit:

1. Where possible, we use recycled paper to produce our products. On some products like the photo calendar for example,the printed pages are produced using a 200gsm Recycled silk sheet - to the untrained eye, you can't tell the difference in quality between recycled and un-recycled paper. We certainly wouldn't use it if it was going to effect the quality of our merchandise.

2. All our off-cuts of paper are either made into pads or supplied free of charge to our local school for the children to draw on. This saves the school spending money on new paper and reduces the amount of waste.

3. All our paper waste goes into paper recycle bins which we then pay to have emptied once a month. This ensures our waste paper is put back into good use.

4. General office waste is sorted into plastic, glass or general and recycled accordingly.

5. Our electricity comes from Eco-tricity who generate their power from sustainable resources like wind and sea power.

6. We use energy saving light bulbs throughout our business premises and we switch off the lights if they are not required.

7. We drink a lot of tea, but we don't overfill the kettle.

8. We turn the thermostat down when we don't need it.
